Year Of Release: 1976

Notes from viewing number 1 (28.10.2021)

Rating: 10/10

- All The President's Men starts with a brilliant reenactment of the arrest that started what may be the most infamous political scandal in American history. It's great filmmaking.

- The way this film tells it's story is incredible. Everything slowly unravels, and you are constantly watching. It never feels boring. I also have to appreciate how factual everything is too.

- Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman make for an iconic duo. Robert Redford gives maybe his best performance for me, and Hoffman is as good as he usually is. Great casting.

- This film also has a great supporting cast. Jason Robards won an Oscar for his performance. It's a really subtle and effective performance, but not Oscar-worthy in my opinion. If they should have handed out an Oscar to someone in this film, it should have been Hal Halbrook, who gives one of the most mysterious and ominous performances ever. The rest of the cast is also superb.
