Rating: 10/10
- Sherlock, Jr. is one of the best love letters to cinema ever made. It's a simple, comedic and heartwarming tale of a young man who is inspired by cinema. It's incredibly simple, but also incredibly great.
- The scene where Buster jumps into the film is extraordinary. I don't understand how effects like that were possible in 1924. Great sequence, and one that confirms Buster's technical mastery.
- I believe Keaton was one of the best stuntmen ever, and that shines here. There's so many daring stunts in this film. I read that Keaton actually broke his neck during one of the stunts, but only discovered it years later. What a madman!
- Buster Keaton is also an amazing actor, something I feel is not talked about enough. He is known as "The Great Stoneface" for his ability to be completely emotionless while all the chaos is unfolding, but to say he only had one expression is a complete lie. He told about his character's feelings through really subtle expressions. He was a great actor, and that's something we should not forget.
